I'm off to another week of adventure at another friend's house. Thank goodness for friends! Rob picked me up at Raechelle's house yesterday and took me to his and Tanya's which is not far from Laguna Beach...where the TV show is made. They live in a cute suburb with a back yard the size of a postage stamp as Tanya says, and its a nice distance from the beach and the desert.
On the way here I got to see the way the toll roads worked..a little thing on your dash that digitally takes off money when you drive down the toll roads. You hear this beep, and viola! 4 bucks is gone. Rob said you can now preorder MacDonalds on it too. Ok, at first I thought he was joking, but its true. Thinking of more ways to get your money. Rob thinks its on average $200 a month to use the toll roads, but when you are travelling these free-ways each day with this amount of traffic, I can understand using it.
Tanya, her two boys and I spent the morning on the beach at Laguna, a very nice beach indeed. We played in the sand and enjoyed a bit of sunshine. Her one son has difficulty with nasal problems in the air here and I can see, or should I say, feel why. When Chelle and I went to Universal Studios, my sinuses where killing me with all the smog. Even on the beach here, its dry, not as much smog, but my eyes felt like they were going to pop out of my head. I can't imagine what a two year old feels like.
Being from Canada, the homeless are usually seen outside in the warm weather. Of course here, with the good weather, they really can hang out all year long. There was several sleeping on the beach when we were there, so we walked around them. A little boy fell from the swing sets and wacked his head on the slide...the ambulance was called. I didn't see it, so in a way I didnt have to do first aid...thank god he was ok.I thought it was going to be a repeat of the zoo incident.....
